Lately my site was slowed down quite often for increased spam activity. Then I installed the Bad Behavior plugin which so far has been doing a great job. It is actually blocking bots before they are able to visit the site and so my server load is greatly reduced.
It works with Akismet, as well. The spam able to pass BB is blocked by Akismet. The only downside is that some legitimate users can be blocked, usually whn browsing from public spaces. I was once refused access to my site while browsing from Dubai Airport Wi-fi.
Wordpress multilingual is online. It is a blog written in many languages by many different authors. It is a test bed for the Gengo Wordpress plugin (written by Jamie Talbot) which adds multilingual support to WP. You can find documentation about Gengo and about publishing a site in many languages, as well. For now there is some content in seven different languages.

La finalità è di sperimentare il plugin Gengo (scritto da Jamie Talbot) che aggiunge funzionalità multilingue a Wordpress. Vi si trovano articoli su come utilizzare Gengo ma anche considerazioni di tipo più generale sulle problematiche connesse alla creazione di un sito multilingue. Attualmente sono presenti articoli in sette lingue diverse.

Il Pohutukawa è un albero nativo della Nuova Zelanda che fiorisce a Natale con bellissimi fiori rossi.
In New Zealand in this season is full of Pohutukawa trees blossoming. For us from Europe they are quite uncommon trees and they look beautiful.
